Web 2.0 Award Sites
I would have loved to have explored the The Supreme Court Zeitgeist but they have been having some kind of VBScript Runtime error since yesterday.
So instead, I "explored" one of the very few sites I was vaguely familiar with. (In fact, I could count on one hand the number of sites I had any knowledge of before Learning 2.0), and this one is only because my wife, Carol has an account there. It's Etsy, the winner in the retail catagory. Etsy is basically a Ebay "Buy It Now" type of site for arts and crafts. My wife's "store" is one she is collaborating with a friend with to sell knitted and crochet handbags. The "Web 2.0" of this site comes in with the flashy Flash applications that let you access recently listed items two different ways, shop by color, shop stores by geographical location, as well as having a run of the mill basic catagories of crafts available. This site heavily utilizes tagging (done by the user when the item is "listed") to assist with all of those functions.
And as of this week, a new upgraded version lets users create "galleries" of their favorite items they've found on etsy, interactive enough to let you see if anyone else logged into etsy is viewing that same gallery. I believe each room has voice capablilities also, so that if one is "wired", people can voice chat live in these gallery rooms.
A very interesting site, and one that I hope proves fruitful for my wife and her friend.
