What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
I think I enjoyed getting to explore the list of sites at the Web 2.0 awards sites. The best of the Web 2.0 all in one spot to click on and explore! I enjoyed setting up this blog and loading it with all the blogsites I love to read. I didnt know before that I could subscribe and have my own little list of sites personalized for me!
Were there any take-a-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? I didnt expect to understand much of this, but surprisingly, it wasnt as hard as I was trying to make it.
What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? I cant think of anything at all that would make it any better.
If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate?YES! I think this is an excellent program and would love to do more training like this. Making sure all the blogs get read, must be a difficult job though, I dont envy your job in that respect, Helene. I would like to see this kind of training availble to see what resources the Carolina Room, the Law Library and other specialty libraries have.
Net Library
I had fun clicking through the stacks at the Net Library. I found more than a few books I would like to download on my new ipod when it gets here. I am a civil war buff and I would love to listen to "The Battle of Gettysburg" or "Chancelorsville". I imagine those could take up quite a few gigs. I am, as I now undersand it, under matrimonial orders though that I have to save room to download the Laurie R. King books......

YOU TUBE
Ok. A few weeks ago, I linked to a new Weird Al video on You Tube. I like You Tube, and since finding the White N Nerdy video, have found the geratric1927 series of video mails. I liked listening to him talk about WWII, since my father was also in WWII. I have also learned some new lingo such as "HATERS"... and one of Geratric1927's recent videos dealt with the "Haters" issue and how You Tube could benefit from having a better security system and a better way to handle destructive people who post hateful comments and videos in addition to banning those who upload gross and illegal videos. There's always going to be a certain amount of "DRUDGE" that comes with the freedoms the internet allows, but it does seem that You Tube has quite a bit more than most places. I do like the fact that members can upload a video and make it private (hopefully hackers wont find their way into that) so that families and friends can share videos without having ugly comments being made from the "HATERS".

Happy Birthday "Library 2.0"
After finding the October 3rd podcast at Talking with Talis on www.postcast.net, I found that the term "Library 2.0" was first coined more or less one year ago. Hard to believe!
Happy Birthday Library 2.0. From what I understand from the podcast, "Library 2.0 Gang" at this Blogsite and the interview with Michael Casey, seem to be indicating the Library 2.0 concept is spreading so fast, that libraries are going to be hiring web developers to keep up with the demands of the Public 2.0
